The Plague Continues

Covid

By ChampionElCidPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The Plague continues ravaging all across the land

From mountaintop to ocean, from plain to desert sand

It seems nothing can stop it, though I know not why

There is in fact some cure, we need not have to die

But many will not take the cure, they say they need not bother

They will not take it to save their life, nor the lives of others

You may ask why they don't, I can't give a good answer

They are convinced the cure, perhaps, is some form of cancer

I don't know why they think this, it makes no sense to me

The cure is better than the plague, that is plain to see.

But thanks to their refusal, the plague will keep on growing

Consuming everything it sees, never ever slowing

It's killed almost one million of my fellow countrymen

How long before it kills a million more my friend?

It saddens me to see this tremendous loss of life

But I am saddened more, by what caused this strife

For this is what will happen when you let yourself be lead

By those who wish to do you harm, by messing with your head

They say all manner of nonsense and will say it's true

They yell, and scream and shout until their face turns blue

And tell you that "the cure is poison do not take this thing"

"Only listen to what we say, and you can be a king"

I see the signs of trouble that this rhetoric will cause

If it keeps spreading uncontrolled, without any pause.

And yet I feel a hopelessness just thinking of it all

In such despair, I sometimes wish, that society would fall…..
