The Place You Left

A Memory That Refuses to Fade

You left quietly,
no final word.
Just silence stayed,
loud and sharp.

I searched skies,
found no signs.
Only shadows moved,
where light once lived.

The room feels colder,
your laugh missing.
Time walks slower
in your absence.

I still visit
the place you left
where memories whisper
and ghosts speak softly.

I hold photos,
not your hands.
I hear echoes,
not your voice.

I speak aloud,
hoping you hear.
But answers never
make it back.

The air still holds
your perfume’s trace.
The mirror reflects
my lonelier face.
Your mug sits still,
as if waiting.
The door creaks softly
I almost believe.

Your name still burns
beneath my breath.
Love doesn’t vanish
it just aches quieter.

I wear the pain
like second skin,
familiar now,
but never welcome.

Still I wait,
in love’s ruins,
praying for peace,
but waking to pain.

Not every goodbye
comes with closure.
Some stay open
forever.

Some places heal.
Some places haunt.
And some…
never let go.
