The Placard

An abused system

I hang from the mirror in a car.

A pass to park in a special place.

If handicapped you are,

there is a reserved space.

Some people who park here,

abuse the system, don’t you see?

They tell a lie insincere,

pretending in need they be.

Who knows how they came to possess

a pass that grants them free reign.

There needs to be some process ,

to punish this ill gotten gain.

The police turn a blind eye,

to this deceitful action.

If a placard they abuse,

they get away with no infraction.

When the laws you bend,

it’s a question of your morality.

Is this the sort of social sin,

Where there is no evil you can see?

This really makes you think. The way you highlight the issue of morality and fairness here is powerful. Good work 🫶🏽
