The Peace of Night

The moon is full, the night is still

The stars shine bright upon the hill

The wind is calm, the leaves are still

The world is hushed, so peaceful and still

In this moment, all is right

The worries of the day take flight

I take a deep breath, and close my eyes

And let the beauty of the night skies

Soothe my soul, and ease my mind

I'm grateful for this peace I find

In the silence, I hear my heart

And know that I'm exactly where I should start

For tomorrow, when the day begins

I'll face it with a heart that spins

With the wonder of the night before

And the promise of so much more

So I'll hold on to this moment dear

And let the beauty of the night be near

For in the stillness, I'm reminded

That life is a journey, to be cherished and minded.
