The pathway ahead of me...
For Ashley Lima's Unsplash Inspiration Challenge!
The hills that stand majestic before me
Are visible yet seem untouchable
The pathway that lies ahead of me
Is challenging but not impossible
Many take shortcuts. That's not for me
I need to face it. This is not skippable
The path around it that's not for me
Wherever it leads, its beauty's undeniable
Tho' it be dangerous, the road ahead of me
The surrounding beauty makes it unmissable
Just as life's woes and problems impact me
There are high points that make life remarkable
A full spectrum of colour and tone waits for me
Hues of green, blue, and everything imaginable
True peace, joy, and contentment, wait for me
Getting over life's mountains, I know it is possible

Late to the party on this one. This poem is my participation in the Unsplash Challenge, started by Ashley Lima. Basically, put your name into Unsplash and write a short poem based on the first image.
You can check out her take on the challenge here:
I tried Paul, but rather unsurprisingly, my search brought many images related to the Apostle Paul. So, opted for Stewart instead and got this gorgeous image that apparently taken in Stewart, British Columbia. This is fitting because Scotland and Canada have a lot of shared history and connections.
So, there you go.

Oooo, this again gave me strong vibes of Robert Frost! You're such an amazing poet! 🍩🥐
We once took the path less traveled around Lake Louise at a resort (where we were not staying) in Banff, Alberta. They told us the trail went all the way around the lake & off to the glacier in the distance. What they didn't make clear was that the trail went around to the other side of the lake off to the right. We went left. Still made it to the glacier blazing our own trail until we rejoined the frequently traveled. It was almost dark before we got back. Saw bear tracks we hadn't seen on the way out. Loved the poem.
Good work here Paul. Nature poetry rarely gets my engine going, but I enjoyed the subtlety of this and the fact you flipped it into something more psychological and personal.
This is beautiful 😍 What a lovely image! I love the theme of working hard, finding beauty, and overcoming obstacles. Well done!
First of all, this is my new favorite thing you’ve written. I loved every word of it, but especially this bit: “The pathway that lies ahead of me Is challenging but not impossible Many take shortcuts. That's not for me” Amen and hallelujah. Secondly, LOL at St Paul coming up. Even though I live in the twin cities, one of them named after the guy, I never cared for his interpretations of things. But let me not get started on that. I know a lot of people take Paul’s words as seriously as those from Jesus, who he never knew. 🙄 I tried this challenge typing in Naomi, and the dumbest pictures came up. I should try Gold.
