It’s very easy for me to fall back into you
But you walk in and out of me
Like you own the place
Like you can leave for wild adventures
For plans I’m not a part of
And return knowing you’ll have a steady bed
I don’t know why I gave you my key
You are always able to get in
Each morning I wake is a surprise
And each evening I sleep
I wonder if you’ll come back
Always searching for you
But one day
I’ll change the lock
And no matter how many times you
turn the knob
Or sit on the stoop in the rain
hoping for a door to open
You wont be able to feel me anymore
And you’ll finally know
how it’s been for me
This is the path that I’ve walked with you
And this is now the path you taught me to walk
to let go of you
