The Path to Happiness

The Path to Happiness

By F.R.B.Published 12 months ago 1 min read

Beneath the sky's vast, endless dome,

We wander far in search of "home."

Through gilded halls and fleeting gain,

We chase the sun, outrun the rain.

The world declares, "It’s wealth you need!"

A throne of gold, a crown of greed.

But treasures gleam, then lose their glow,

For joy resides where riches don't go.

Some seek in fame the sweetest taste,

Their names in lights, their lives in haste.

Yet crowds disperse, applause will fade—

A hollow prize, a joy betrayed.

Others look to distant lands,

To mountains high or sun-kissed sands.

The beauty stirs, the spirit soars,

But soon, the heart still yearns for more.

It’s not a place, it’s not a thing,

Nor fleeting thrill, nor jeweled ring.

Happiness hides in simple art:

A grateful soul, a giving heart.

It's in the hands that lift, create,

The love we share, the lives we elevate.

It’s kindness born of selfless acts,

The moments lived without contracts.

In quiet woods, where whispers sing,

Or laughter shared, like birds in spring,

In present breaths, in truths profound,

That’s where happiness is found.

So pause your chase, unbind your feet,

The treasure lies where souls do meet.

No need to seek the world around

What you pursue was always found.

A nice reminder that the happiness we seek is usually right in front of us if we only stop and enjoy it.
