The Passion in Love

A short poem

By J.M. MoonPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

Please be quiet, your eyes shatter the silence

From across the room, they pull me to you

*

Please be gentle, and try to remember

This heart can break quickly, and easy too

*

Don’t get nervous, nothing can hurt us

In these first moments, in those eyes of blue

*

Don’t get scared, love comes unprepared

The heart races, this moment engulfs us two

*

So, is this like falling in love? Does your heart divide and conquer?

Just to watch mine fall, when love no longer seems, so intangible

*

So, is this like falling in love? Shall we let reason crumble

As the heart soars, now everything feels, so simple

*

Flood my walls until they break, to remember just one thing

That love can come unexpected, and be a welcome relief

Now the simplest of emotions, can do more than you believe

*

Just for this one moment, keep those emotions in check

Pray for just this moment, that the world will be the best

Place it could ever be, no one I would rather see

It’s like you’re the only one I have ever wanted

And the only one I will ever need

The quickest hands of a thief, a love stolen from above

The hottest of fires in my eyes, ignites a passionate love

*

Can you feel it? Can you feel it?

Deep within your heart, in your lungs, can you breathe it?

Does it rest upon your soul and let you know who you are?

Can you see it in my eyes, can you feel it in my heart?

*

And just for this one moment, it’s like the world stops to smile

I know it’s just one moment, but we can make it last for a while

I can’t hold myself together, now I have found, the passion in love.
