The Other Side of Light
Her shadow lured her to the dark,
A whisper soft, a fleeting spark.
It stretched and slithered, pulled her near,
A voice of longing, edged with fear.
The daylight wavered, dimmed, and swayed,
As past and future interplayed.
She took a step, the world grew thin,
A hollow space drew her within.
The echoes hummed of things unsaid,
Of love undone and dreams long dead.
The air was thick with ghosts untold,
Their murmurs laced in dust and cold.
A mirror stood, but none looked back,
A fractured time, a winding track.
She traced the glass with trembling hands,
And felt it shift like sinking sands.
Beyond the veil, the silence burned,
A lesson taught, a fate unearned.
Yet still her shadow held its claim,
And called her forward, spoke her name.
The walls dissolved, the path unspooled,
A realm where neither fate nor rule
Could bind her soul or stake its right.
She crossed beyond the reach of light.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

There's something think about here in this poem. Good job.
