I had a dream that I was traveling cross country,
On a journey to see all that this land had to see.
The open road stretched out before me,
A never-ending ribbon of possibility.
I packed my bags and hit the road,
Determined to see it all.
The mountains rose up to meet me,
Their peaks kissed the sky, so tall.
I drove through forests and fields,
Past the rivers and past the streams,
The landscape changed with each turn,
But my sense of adventure gleams.
I met people along the way,
Each with a story to tell.
Some were kind and some were rough,
But all added to the tale I would sell.
I saw cities and small towns,
Each with its own charm and allure.
I tasted the local foods and drinks,
And learned about their culture.
As I traveled on, I realized
That this country is vast and grand,
With so much to see and do,
I couldn't see it all in just one span.
But I'll keep on traveling,
Crossing this great land,
Discovering all it has to offer,
With an open heart and open hand.
So it is written, and so shall it be,
that this land that I love is perfect for me.
The cultures I found were a plenty,
and showed themselves from city to city.
So I'll travel this land as far as the eye can see,
and share adventures from the road from you and me.
No mountains, or streams or rivers alike could stop the travels
through the night, as day breaks and the road appears, let it be.
Sunsets and Sunrises I've chased all the
day long as they set my heart
ablaze, leaving it longing for more.
Traveling this great nation as grand as it be
leaves so much more to be desired so onto
the open road it is for me.
