The Ooze

How big can I grow

By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

When I came to Earth.

I had but one goal:

To find food to increase my girth

And see how big I can grow.

You cannot hide, you see.

I can get through a small crack.

I will make you a part of me.

There is no going back.

I can mimic your brain

I can know your thoughts

I will make you insane

You are sure to get caught

I have no arm to grab you.

I move without a leg.

Feel is something I don’t do.

I have no ear to hear you beg.

I will eat a croaking frog.

I do not have a care.

I will eat a barking dog.

I’ll consume a growling bear.

I will devour you without remorse

Until there is nothing left to consume

A relentless primal force

I will become your tomb

Wow, this was a little bit terrifying lol. The relentless, predatory tone really pulls you in. Amazing work!

This was eerie. Love the flow of it as well. Nice poem.
