The Old Man of the Mountain Remembered (he fell 20 years ago May 3rd 2003)
The Old Man of the Mountain
was a beloved symbol of New Hampshire.
A landmark, tourists stopped near to
take a picture of his majestic profile.
Locals passed him daily on the road,
as part of the mountain skyline.
he was on our drivers’ licenses as a
token of New Hampshire pride.
We will always remember
the old man of the mountain,
who watched over us, until the day
he fell.
