The Ocean

A feeling of wholeness

Lost

Sometimes, I forget my beating heart and wander around aimlessly

with my mind trapped in its hamster wheel

and life becomes dull and heavy

Blind

My eyes only see shades of gray and paleness

The rhythm of the world becomes a faint whisper

with memories of stories long lost

Grip

my fear of living

my fear of dying

Trapped because I don’t know

Listen

I can hear now —

the melody of weightlessness

the sigh of letting go

Release into the Flow State

I am the drop, and I am the ocean

The inspiration for this poem is the handshake practice, a Buddhist meditation.

How to Make Friends with Your Beautiful Monsters

The handshake practice is a Buddhist meditation technique that involves tuning into and accepting one’s feelings without judgment. It is based on Vajrayana practices and intended to help people develop compassion and kindness.

That's a masterpiece! Ute . This poem gracefully moves from confusion to peace, illustrating the struggle of feeling trapped and the liberation found in letting go. The imagery of the drop and ocean is both profound and calming. You masterfully captures the essence of meditation, bringing serenity to the reader with simplicity and depth. Beautifully done! :)
