Are we MAD

In a silo I sit,

atop a missile strong.

Any city I hit,

will be completely gone.

It is said that I am MAD,

Mutual assured destruction.

If I am used it will be sad,

for that’s not my main function.

Yes it’s true I could destroy,

but a deterrent I be.

You see I am employed,

to keep our country free.

I am a nasty scare,

for I can wipe you out.

So you best beware,

for your end is of no doubt.

What is it you will do?

There is nowhere you can hide.

What will become of you,

if we wipe out your whole side.

The only question is,

do you win a war?

If I insure no one lives,

and humans are no more?
