I always enjoyed a good challenge when it came to writing poetry. It was that way in school, too. Our teacher would give us a subject and then, we’d have fifteen minutes to see what we would do with it.
The challenges always amused me.
I happened to tell a friend of mine about this weird way of learning poetry and she amusingly said, “Okay, write a poem about the lunch we just had.”
The challenge was given and accepted.
Here is what I wrote – and I was completely done in less then ten minutes.
THE NEXT MATADOR
A hamburger is a fast-fooder’s delight.
But think of the bull in the midst of the night.
As we sink our teeth into a burger and fries,
The bull’s getting lonely, and so he sighs.
They took away Bossie and ground her to bits.
They cut off her nose and even her ti**
But I’ll get even! Someday for sure!
JUST WAIT ‘TIL I SEE THE NEXT MATADOR!
Hope you all enjoyed my little Burger ditty as much as we enjoyed our lunch.

omg, this is funny. I can see you really put your heart and soul - and your teeth into this one
It's a damn good thing I didn't have a mouthful of food or beverage. I would have sprayed it all over my laptop. This was GREAT.
Absolutely hilarious. I will never look at another hamburger the same way. When I do have one, I will always think of the next matador.
