The Never-Ending Water Ride
A Splashy Trip Through the Water Cycle

The sun grinned high up in the sky,
(A big, hot, yellow, happy guy!)
He winked at Ocean, blue and vast,
And Ocean shivered as he passed.
"Come on up, my friend!" Sun beamed,
"It's time for you to get steam-cleaned!"
So Ocean waved his watery hand,
And droplets rose across the land.
They danced and swirled, a misty crowd,
And gathered together, laughing loud.
They formed a cloud, so fluffy, white,
That drifted in the morning light.
The cloud grew heavy, dark, and gray,
"I think I've had enough to play!"
It rumbled with a gentle sound,
And dropped its rain down to the ground.
Pitter-patter, drip-drop-splash!
A wonderful, exciting crash!
The rain soaked gardens, filled the streams,
And helped the earth to wake its dreams.
Some rain sank deep, a secret seep,
To help the roots of flowers sleep.
But other drops began to race,
With happy smiles upon each face!
They formed a stream, a babbling brook,
A winding path the water took.
It rushed and gushed, a river now,
From mountain top to valley's brow.
It flowed right past the towns and trees,
Carried along by a gentle breeze.
And where do you think the river ends?
It flows to Ocean, our old friend!
So Ocean’s full, the sun shines bright,
And everything feels just so right.
The water’s trip, it has no stop,
It goes up to the cloud-top shop,
Then falls right down, a happy ride,
With nowhere permanent to hide.
It's called The Cycle, don't you see?
The never-ending water spree!
