The Mother of Virtues

From Beyond Time and Behind Stars

Through the tradition of linear time,

Heavy with its faults and guilt,

Encased in the lock-box of memory,

Reason, and rule, the question of,

“What now?” has been thrown

With abandon, hope, defeat, fear, and

The primal passions of integrity:

.

She who meets the tsunami of

Change as the sky embraces

Dark winds pregnant with

Frostbite and failure of crop.

.

In grace.

.

This question, “What now?”

Burdened with a fiery curiosity,

Has quite the double edge to it.

The skeptic glances

Askance,

Greedy with the pains of loss;

The optimist may open a smile,

As the flower invites the sun to bathe her.

.

Both would taste the nature of duality.

About the Creator

Sabayo Matiku

I express the realities and frequencies that words are carried on, to speak to the heart in a manner that is simple and free. I've come to ruffle feathers and to polish the sky, to laugh and wonder.
