The morning after
a hangover poem (not based on real life events)

From the cold, stale coffee
With a grating sound
Black smoke rises
Smelling of fish
The upside down brain
Squints through swollen eyes
But then - what is there to look at
In a bland faded world
Only reflections on the wall
Are like blades
Everything has dried to tasteless dust
But somewhere nearby
Something is dripping loudly
Dripping
Dripping
Dripping
Legs seem to be oversized
Hands feel tangled and numb
Should have drunk less
Should have but
It would be good to have a cognac now
But it's all gone
