Listen to parents and your teachers
Sunday church, itinerant preachers
Go to school, pay attention
Working nightly on retention
Learn and grow, study hard …
Tutors, study buddies, flash cards
Always more 0n the next page
Figure out what makes you rage
…. Problem is …
The more you learn the less you believe
What’s up the other sleeve?
Geography at least I can see myself
Math and chemistry on proven shelf
But history, the past… who really knows
Winners write the stories … And It Shows
Religion is always quite the quandary
Where we air the dirty laundry
Love thy neighbor and all mankind
Unless they worship at a different shrine
Is it real? Were they right?
Or did they just pick a fight?
Then philosophy rears it’s cloudy head
Deep questions which we ponder in bed
Am I real or just a figment?
Is our life determined by our pigment?
Nietzsche, Socrates, Marx, Homer
Let your fingers be the roamer
Well…, study, ask, but make up your own mind
My truth, your truth, it’s there to find
Stride forth on life’s stage
When the play ends… turn the page

"Love thy neighbor and all mankind Unless they worship at a different shrine" This is the sad reality we live in. Loved your poem, King Andrew!
Perfect poem ♦️♦️
This turned inot a deeper poem than I first thought. Very well said Andrew.
The my truth, your truth line is so taken from the woke book. 😅 This period in Hittorf will be known as the involution of the human being.
