The Monochrome Dream

A dream made up of nothing but black, grey, and white.

Many years ago,

I had a dream in grey.

It was not lucid,

but it was very vivid.

It started as empty.

Plain ground and no surroundings.

And then,

on its own,

I saw a carousel in the distance.

It was distant,

but large.

Slowly,

an amusement park setting began to form.

First, a bouncy house.

Then,

a group of rides I can't quite remember.

The ground was soft,

yet hard to walk on.

As I tried to walk,

I didn't step.

I simply moved across the ground.

Like trying to walk in a bouncy house.

In amazement,

I moved around and explored.

I wasn't able to interact with the world.

All I could do was stare and appreciate.

The setting would change now and then,

and the world was out of color.

It was not nightmarish,

but not exactly dreamy either.

The sky was grey,

and the universe was empty.

It felt like living in a massive blanket.

No environment or atmosphere.

There was nothing for me to do.

I stood,

blankly,

before finally waking up.
