The Moment in Time that Created A World

A parallel life

undreamt. With your betrayal;

forms in an instant.

This haiku is about a moment in time when the awareness of a betrayal is first felt. The emotions driven by such a loss of trust have the power to create a reality for the betrayed; one that they could have never felt possible. It creates a parallel future to what they'd held in their minds and hearts naught but an instant ago.

This haiku is being submitted to the Time Capsule challenge because I felt like the assignment could go in many ways. I could have chosen a linear age, such as the Renaissance, or the 90's, but I chose to reflect a shorter period of time, if but a moment; created by one of the strongest emotions we humans can feel: betrayal.
