Prayer rises

from my heart

as mist rises

from the water

a delicate power

between heaven

and earth

gossamer strands

of iridescent

thoughts of

enduring love

held

by heartbeats

tempered

by tears

rising to

the heavens

and into a realm

where whispers

and murmurs

of angels' prayers

fill the atmosphere

float between

the mist dissipates

in the sun's

morning gaze

but the prayers

remain.
