The Mirror's Reflection
Seeing Yourself Beyond the Surface

I looked in the mirror, searching for truth,
For the person I’d been since my youth.
But all I saw were flaws and doubt,
A face that had learned to shut out.
I tried to see the beauty, the light,
But all I found was a heart in fright.
I wondered who I was, who I’d become,
What parts of me had I left undone?
The mirror showed only what’s on the outside,
But didn’t reveal the battles I’d tried to hide.
It didn’t show the scars of my soul,
The tears that had made me whole.
But then I realized — the mirror’s just glass,
It doesn’t capture the time that has passed.
It doesn’t reflect the strength I’ve grown,
The courage that no one’s ever known.
I am more than what you see,
More than the face that gazes back at me.
I am the sum of my struggles and grace,
The reflection of the love I’ve embraced.
So, next time you look, don’t just see,
Know that there’s more than what can be.
The true reflection lies beneath,
In the heart that’s stronger than any belief.
