the messenger

words that fall

left on a page

words in my heart that I can't save

every new thought and every lousy memory

is brought to the paper

there for me to find later

Not the best when I talk

writing is better

for when I write

I am at my best

My soul is on fire

with the sounds, I can't utter

simply put

I am but a messenger

without thinking

feelings are shared

without a single neuron firing

I am but the messenger

Sometime later, in my mind

the expanse wide and true

poetry is the escape

I am the messenger
