The mess room
I had to end a friendship with someone recently. And as a way of letting go and saying goodbye, I made my favorite thing we ever did into a poem. I LOVE MESSES.

Welcome to the room
The room where you can be
Flying high above the sky.
Where everyone is free
Welcome to the room
Where you wire your own wires
No traps, no lies , just butterflies
and no hearts required
Welcome to the room
Make sounds, be loud, be proud
Sending waves like forceful earthquakes
rattling the ground
Welcome to the room
Were all broken as can be
Just wasted, battered freaks
Tearing at the seams
Welcome to the room
the one that saved us from ourselves
Our bruised egos still have meaning
At least as far as I can tell
