The Mask of Goodness
Pixels of Mercy, Shadows of Self

We post our mercy, polished bright,
Animals saved in fleeting light.
Likes like applause, gentle and small,
Yet hungry children wander, unseen by all.

The mirror shows a divided face,
Offline whispers, online grace.
Impression, approval, virtue displayed,
Safe applause in pixels conveyed.

Two selves stretch across a screen,
Anxiety hums where hearts have been.
Shallow bonds, slacktivist ways,
Kindness hidden in the blaze.

Yet some sparks travel beyond the glass,
A quiet seed for others to amass.
The man we post must meet our own,
Mercy lived, not just shown.
