The Mask of Celebrity

O1

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In a world where celebrities are gods,

Their every move is scrutinised and adored,

Their faces plastered on every screen,

Their words repeated like sacred lore.

But beneath the surface of this manufactured fame,

Lies a soul as fragile as a butterfly,

Trapped in a gilded cage of their own creation,

Their true selves hidden from the public eye.

As they dance to the beat of the industry's drum,

Their lives become a twisted performance,

A spectacle of manipulation and control,

Their true desires drowned out by the uproar.

But in the quiet moments of solitude,

When the cameras are turned off and the lights dim,

Do they feel the weight of their own existence,

Or are they lost in a never-ending dream?

In this distorted reality of pop culture,

Where everything is superficial and fleeting,

One can't help but wonder what lies beneath,

And if there is any truth to the stories they're singing.
