The marvelously Manic Monday of Mary Marjorie!
Mary Marjorie’s marmalade was made with molasses.
It stuck to her hair, her favorite bear, and even stuck to her sunglasses.
She started to scream, to wriggle and pull.
Yet, the marmalade stuck to a box of steel wool.
It grabbed up the spoons, and the plates in the sink,
the cat and a very strange bottle of ink;
which she got from an octopus dressed all in pink.
With a bright frilly shirt, a bow tie, and a hat,
waving around a marsupial rat.
And the rat was the one who was talking to us,
not talking but yelling, and making a fuss.
He said that this ink, is magic and grand,
and will do what you need with a flick of your hand.
Remembering this, Mary reached for the jar,
hoping the ink would remove all this tar.
With a flick of her wrist, the ink was all out,
but her mind had suddenly filled up with doubt,
about if this ink would even work out.
Just then!, With a bang!, and a flash, some-thing happened.
The ink, And the jam, instantly vanished,
and all of her troubles were finally banished. or so she thought
She jumped and she shouted, with so much elation,
her head seemed to swell and start its inflation.
Bigger and bigger her head did inflate,
until she was floating, right cross the state.
She passed over a mountain, and a beautiful stream,
When all of a sudden she started letting off steam.
Lower and lower she sank from the air,
And landed on top of a great grizzly bear.
Ten and a half feet this bear rose,
With a strange looking insect perched on his nose.
The bug told the bear; “I don’t think she knows,
just how big a great purple grizzly bear grows.”
She clung to the bear as tight as can be.
poor little, scared little, Miss Marjorie.
She was oh so frightened as she feared for her life,
her pretty little head all filled up with strife.
She knew she would soon, be done for no doubt,
when all of a sudden a bird pulled her out.
This bird was enormous, gigantic and huge.
*You need all those words to describe this big dude.*
Wings out-stretched, they went on for a mile,
She hoped beyond hope he was nice and not vile.
As they flew through the sky, she slipped from his grasp,
and fell right into a large nest filled with asps.
They slithered and hissed, as she screamed and she cried,
but all of these snakes simply paid her no mind.
Between quieting cries and some lessening sniffles,
her mind formed a thought and she started to giggle.
When she realized a little residual ink,
was still stuck on her blouse, which was a very bright pink.
This leftover ink, it really did stink,
and it caused all the slithery snakes to shrink,
until every last one disappeared with a blink.
They were no longer visible, so what do you think?
“Eek!,” She cried out, “now what do I do?
I’ve got to get out of here, this much is true.”
So she climbed to the top of the tallest large rock,
and tried to determine which direction to walk.
She looked and she looked, but had nary a clue,
where she should go, oh!, what would she do?
Then at that moment, a beautiful sight,
flew from the sky, and began to alight.
A winged unicorn with the most beautiful mane,
braided and bowed, and not one bit plain.
Quite gorgeous her wings were, while still widespread,
as was the spirally horn on her head.
Next, from the horn, a rainbow did sprout.
Guiding our Mary to find her way out,
And to get to the place she desperately wants,
to her home and her mother’s delicious croissants.
She followed that rainbow, for hours and hours,
And then there they were!, her favorite flowers!
The red ones that grow on a vine up the house,
and on them there’s even a little gray mouse,
who’s been living there for such a very long time,
they love him and feed him dehydrated limes.
She opened the door, and walked right inside,
saw her dear mother, then broke down and cried.
Her mom asked; “What happened,? to you this Monday?,
since there weren’t any classes at school on this day.
Did you go out?, have fun?, did you run?, did you play?
What happened to sadden your face in that way?”
So Mary sat down and told her the tale,
and she thought her mom’s face, surely would pale.
Instead, she just laughed, and gave a big hug,
and delighted poor Mary, with a big jug,
of ice cold lemonade, and croissants on a rug,
that had blues and greys and a scuttling bug.
The bug walked around, for a minute or two,
then flew out the door, for he’s scared of you.
She enjoyed her croissants and her juice as she sat,
Thinking of what a trying day that she had.
Now Mary was back, she was warm, safe, and happy,
glad to be home. do you think this is sappy?
As she drifted to sleep, she started to say;
“This was quite a marvelous and manic, mad mad Monday.”
