I cannot find the words or way to say that I'm sorry for pushing you away

And I cannot muster up the courage to say

To confess

That my brain is a disorganized mess

That I want your hand in mine

That every single star in the sky your smile can outshine

(...)

Before I say too much like I do every time

Let me grab a lime

and put it in my mouth so I don't say another word

After all they say the tongue is a sword

(...)

I've pulled away because I'm scared

(...)

But love to me is a campfire

I know it's flames will die out during the storm

I'd like to be close enough to stay warm

But far enough to never hurt or burn myself
