The Man Walks On

Written in 12th Grade

By Sarah LovePublished 8 years ago 1 min read

This long dirt road winds and curves

Leading nowhere in particular.

A man dressed in black, with a top hat

And coat, cane in hand,

Walks this winding road consistently,

Stylishly.

The firelit sky slowly fades,

Darkness closes in.

As the man walks on,

He feels the breeze on his rosy cheeks.

Trees sway as if dancing because

The day is over

And it's time to rest.

Little ripples show on the lake

Riding next to the road

The man sighs,

But he still walks on.
