The Magical Marshmallow Tour

Poem about marshmallows, funfairs - with a heavy dose of inspiration from The Beatles...

By Paul StewartPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Imagine yourself in a stream or a park

In a little boat or on a little bench

Candyfloss trees and marshmallow skies

You hear a voice echoing, calling you

*

Roll up

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

Roll up

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

*

Roll up

for your inspiration

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

Roll up

if you're ravenous

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

*

The magical marshmallow tour

Is here to help you play

Here to help you play

*

You stand in line and pay for a ticket

In a expansive fairground wonderland

Full of pretty lights and loud music

Stalls of sweet treats, sensorial delight

*

Roll up

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

Roll up

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

*

Roll up

it's everything you ever need

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

Roll up

guaranteed satisfaction indeed

Roll up for the marshmallow tour

*

the magical marshmallow tour

is hoping to fill you with jou

dying to fill you with joy

with joy today

*

Thanks for reading!

Author's Notes: Blame my love of marshmallows and memories of fun fairs and carnivals and the delicious sweet treats that were always available there, in addition to my love for The Beatles.

This is not the first time I have written about marshmallows...

This was so fun, Sir Paul! I sang it to my own tune!

This was fun and whimsical! Nicely done!

  • Somehow reading this fills me with dread, as though the Blue Meanies are running the show & & I'm Pinocchio. Well done, Paul.

Ha! I’ve been awaiting this one Paul (I had to be sure it was a real work in progress and not some deranged threat 😂). Well here’s my answer. Now I want marshmallows, a gobful (yes that’s a word autocorrect). This really transported me to a funfair. Well done you!

  • Yum yum... but I have to ask (whispering) were you on drugs? :-D

We all live innnna giant marshmallow! 🎵..Nope doesn’t have the same ring. I kept thinking how many marshmallows did you have in your gob whilst writing this. I like that u like your sweets too. 😁 Must get around to reading the rest of your “marshmallow collection”! Adios and happy eating!!

The Magical Mystery Tour played in my thoughts as I read this. Loved the carnival atmosphere and sense of fun in this one. Reminiscent of wide-eyed childhood.

So, now I'm craving marshmallows and my sweet tooth needs no encouragement! Toasted are best though.

  • Lol 😂 Nothing quite like a pink square of powdered cocaine to get those kids cheering at the carnival! Now you have my inner child remembering the delicious decadence of toasted marshmallows!!!! Mmmmmmm Once an addict…. Always…. Ummm…. Well… perhaps always an addict 😂😂😂
