The Madness Of Melting

Frosted Verse

As a child, I can remember

Crystalized Decembers

Setting out into a marshmallow world

Stark, shimmering blades

Of icy grass

And rigid, frigid spiderwebs,

Adorned with hardened pearls.

~

Yet here I sit

In a humid mist

In the summer heat

Of November.

Somber sighs,

On scorched out soil

As the wildfires rage,

I sooth turmoil

While coral reefs bleach

And the oceans boil.

~

Mom and Dad aren’t worried though.

They think it’s all in my head.

And even if

I know the truth,

They just assume

That they’ll be dead

By the time the waters

Reach their door.

So what am I

To be living for?

~

Billionaires

In the air

Eating burgers,

Me on Earth

Without worth

Eating dirt.

Madness melting

Us all apart

Heat-stroked winters

And icy hearts.
