The Love That Was Best Not

Growth

By Karl JacksonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the garden of dreams where we once would roam,

A spark ignited, yet never found home.

We danced on the edges of what could unfold,

But fate had its laughter, a story untold.

Yet here in the sunlight, I blossom anew,

With petals of courage and skies painted blue.

For love unrequited can still light the way,

I flourish in freedom—tomorrow's bouquet!

In a garden where wildflowers yearned to bloom,

Two hearts danced close but fell into gloom.

Whispers of love in the soft summer air,

Yet fate wove a tapestry, frayed with despair.

But from the ashes of dreams unfulfilled,

New seeds of ambition and joy were instilled.

So here's to the flames that once burned so bright,

For in letting go, I've discovered my light!

This is a beautiful and poignant exploration of love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit. The imagery is vivid, and the emotions are raw and authentic. Your words convey a deep understanding of the complexities of love and the power of letting go. The contrast between the initial hope and the subsequent disappointment is striking. However, the poem ultimately celebrates the strength and resilience of the human spirit, demonstrating that even in the face of heartbreak, one can find beauty and renewal.
