đź’” The Love Story That Never Started

"A heartbreak with no goodbye, because there was never a hello."

By Awais Qarni Published 5 months ago • 1 min read

We met in glances, not in words,

In silences that screamed unheard.

A look too long, a smile too shy—

And just like that, we passed it by.

I knew your name, but not your touch.

The universe? It asked too much.

It gave me time, but not the place,

To ever truly see your face.

You laughed at jokes I never told,

Wore sweaters warm for winters cold.

But I just stood outside the flame,

A stranger you never had to name.

The pages stayed forever blank,

No letters sent, no battles ranked.

No midnight calls, no messy fights,

No morning sun, no shared goodnights.

Still, I loved you. Quiet. Deep.

In spaces where the lonely sleep.

In dreams that never dared to speak—

In poems written cheek to cheek.

And maybe you felt something too,

In crowded rooms, that pull toward you.

But fate wore blinders. Time was cruel.

And we became love’s greatest rule:

The ones who almost made it whole,

But missed the part where stories roll.

Not enemies. Not even friends.

Just strangers with unfinished ends.

So here’s to us, who never kissed—

To all the chapters that were missed.

A love not lost, but never found…

A silent echo, never sound.
