The love of Summer
I fell in love during the summer, and I haven’t seen things the same between us. What happened to what we used to be?

I used to enjoy the summer before I met you.
But now all I can feel is pain when the sun shines down on me.
The sun holds your spirit, and your warmth,
Something I haven’t felt since your seasons changed.
You yelled more and spoke less, your words stinging me like wasps in the spring.
Yet your demeanor cold like the iciest winter.
But I forced myself to believe I liked summer, just for you.
I sat with you under the forever tree, praying for our love to last longer than just one hundred and four days.
Though when summer dusted the horizon, waving goodbye as the sun began to set,
You were no where to be found.
My summer ending without you,
As I prepare for the solitude of fall.
