The Love Letter That Ended It All

When Love Kills

Your beauty, my love, taught me how to choose beauty, how to swim in a vast sea, and how to sneak into the homes of doves. But I do not blame my hair for the kohl in your eyes or the slenderness of your waist. Instead, I am content with your beauty, my silence, and my torment. There’s no need for you to be angry with me for not saying enough poetry about your beauty.

Your beauty, my lady, taught me how to converse with the stars and the moon and how to sing my poems to lovers. I do not play the role of an artist or a lover; I do not claim to love you madly.

My first task is to make you happy, my second is to guide you, my third is to ensure your comfort, and my fourth is to dispel the clouds in your life. But my most beautiful task is to love you, then love you, and then love you again, my beloved.

My longing for you kills me, and my infatuation with you consumes me. Every particle of my being, every drop of my blood, and every beat of my heart scream your name and call out to you, my beloved.

My love, I live in the orbit of your love and reside in the depths of your heart. I strive as hard as I can to bring joy to the heart I adore, for in its happiness, I find my own, and in its sorrow, I suffer.

My love, if I tried to describe the love in my heart, I would exhaust all the paper in the world. To me, you are everything in my life—my past, present, future, and dreams. You and I, my beloved, are two bodies in one soul. Trust completely that I cannot quarrel with you or stay away from you. Do you know why? Because you are my soul, and who can live without their soul? I hope your love for me is as pure as your name, inspired by the radiance of your face.

I wish to be among the fortunate in this world, to bask in your love and enjoy your generosity. My love, do not withhold happiness from me, for my joy lies in your hands. Send me my happiness, and do not deprive me of your tenderness. Know that I await your reply with a heart more restless than burning embers. In my heart, emotions and feelings stir whenever I see you, as if I want to disappear from this world and merge into your soul. My soul yearns for you, is infatuated with you, and has become unable to live without you. Be gentle with me, for my happiness lies in your hands.

I love the way you talk about living in the other person’s orbit, like their happiness is your happiness. It’s a beautiful kind of longing. Beautifully written
