The Lost Words

An Open Letter to my Ex

By Miss WandererPublished 8 years ago 1 min read
Drawing by JULIET'S SECRETARY

You disappeared suddenly.

I thought you just needed space,

So I gave it

I thought you're busy for work

So I understood

I thought you just want some time to think

So I let you think.

One day, I bumped into you.

You were with another girl.

I was confused.

I don't know what happened.

After that,

I heard that every time you will see me,

You will do your best to avoid me.

I want closure.

I want an explanation.

I am ready to hear anything from you.

I will forgive you even if you are not sorry for what you have done.

But, you don't want to see me

You don't want to hear my pain

You don't want to speak about what happened.

It was so hard letting go.

It was so painful to accept the truth.

It was not easy to understand.

Then you gave me a chance for the closure that I want to hear.

You're eyes can't look straight to my eyes.

You keep wiping your face with your palm as if you are embarrassed to be with me for a while. You asked me what I want to say.

Finally, I got the courage to speak

The words I've been wanting to say

The questions I want to ask

"How are you?"

"Are you happy?"

"Are you okay?"

"Those are the only words I want to say to you."

"I will always want you to be happy and if you are happy with her,

And if you are,

Then I guess I'm ready to let go."
