Endless Days Without the Beloved

It’s been a long time since my beloved visited,

I keep the gathering bright with the excitement of wine.

My heart is once again heading to the streets of blame,

Leaving behind the ruined temple of my pride.

Once more, I’m eager to find someone to buy my love,

Offering my mind, heart, and soul in the process.

Desire rises again for someone waiting at the rooftop,

Their dark hair messily spread across their face.

Once more, I want to stay at someone's door,

Humbly accepting the burden of their servant’s favor.

I’m yearning for those days and nights of freedom again,

To sit and think only of my beloved.

don’t stir my emotions, for with these rising tears,

I sit ready for a storm of grief to break loose.

I buy your love... Excellent poem. Emotional, inspirational, full of love and compassion. Very few people write poems. You wrote a poem that moves others because it reminds them of themselves.
