The Lonely Room

A Room Full but Yet Alone.

By Cai FoxPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

I sit in the silence, a room of my own,

A fortress of thoughts, where seeds are loosely sown.

No doors to open, no windows to see,

Just walls that echo................my own misery.

Voices outside fade into the blur,

Their laughter cuts like a knife, their joy is a spur.

They cannot know, they cannot feel,

The weight of a world that isn’t real.

I reach for the words, but they slip away,

A plea unspoken, a heart in dismay.

For how do you share what you cannot explain?

The shape of a shadow and the sound of the pain.

Loneliness is my quiet guest,

A constant companion, and an unwelcomed rest.

It whispers, “This is where you belong,”

In the hollow of silence, where everything’s wrong.

But deep in the dark, a flicker remains,

A light that struggles, but never to wane.

A stubborn hope, a quiet fight,

A yearning for dawn in the many endless nights.

Perhaps one day, someone will see,

The locked-away battle that lives inside of me.

Until that day, I’ll hold my ground,

In my lonely room where my strength is found.
