The Lonely Road

A Journey Through Quiet Shadows

By MelaniePublished about a year ago 1 min read
A lone figure walks down a dimly lit street, carrying the weight of solitude and memories, guided only by the soft glow of streetlights in the mist.

The road is lonely when night falls deep,

An endless stretch where shadows creep.

Each step I take feels hollow and cold,

A path of stories long untold.

No voices linger, no whispers greet,

Just the echo of my weary feet.

Dust settles in the cracks of stone,

A silent witness to dreams overthrown.

I walk alone in this moonlit haze,

Through twists and turns of endless maze,

Where memories fade like stars at dawn,

And all that’s left is to carry on.

Perhaps I pause, and I look behind,

At all I’ve lost, all I can’t rewind.

But there’s no turning, no going back,

Only this silent, lonesome track.

The road is lonely, yet here I stay,

With nothing but the night to lead my way.

I bear the weight of quiet fear,

And therefore move forward, year by year.
