The road ahead stretches on for miles

With no end in sight, no visible styles

Only the sound of my footsteps to keep me company

As I journey through this endless monotony

The sky above is a dull shade of gray

As I walk on, with no destination or way

My heart heavy with an unexplainable sorrow

I continue on, hoping for a better tomorrow

The trees on either side sway in the breeze

As if whispering secrets only they can seize

Their leaves rustle, a symphony of sound

As I continue down this road, homeward bound

The road is long, the journey is tough

But I keep walking, for I must

For though I am lonely on this road

I know that I must bear this heavy load

And so I walk on, with determination and hope

Believing that someday, I will be able to cope

With the loneliness that haunts me still

And find my way back to a life that is real.
