The Listening Lens
The fair and unfair of biased living

Have you heard about my listening lens?
the ways I use my pretense,
juggling from one lens to millions,
One can never know,
how I listened,
how I misunderstood,
how I became a fool,
to the eyes on the other end,
the mischievous curiosity in knowing the truth,
the underlying emotional root,
wearing the acts of accessories to mute,
/
I am not a therapist,
but a crucial observer,
when hiding my fists,
under the podium of forceful perfectionists,
leaning in with a willingness,
displaying an underlying hesitance,
the eye and body, undeniably,
becoming a language to sketch,
a judgmental story with a touch,
a hard-earned reality,
swept under a broken bench,
denying the facts with a pretense,
/
Aren't we all judging on the stand,
the first impression to capture the audience,
the last impression painting a resonance,
/
Don't hesitate to pass judgment,
for I witness the grip of mind,
jumping from one frame to another,
gasping for the presence of mind,
to bring it back to now,
so as not to misinterpret the pronouns,
/
Heeding from across the window,
ignoring the echoes around the gut,
to go through the lens of biased living,
I open my naive eyes of listening lens,
Listening,
What's more important now?

Parvathi J
Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.
Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
