The Lighthouse Keeper's Tale
A Beacon of Courage and Redemption
In a coastal town, by the ocean's edge,
Where waves kissed the shore with a gentle pledge,
Lived an old lighthouse keeper, his beard turned white,
Guiding lost souls through the darkest night.
His name was Captain Samuel Grey,
Keeper of the beacon, come what may,
A sailor once, with tales to share,
Now tending the light with utmost care.
Each eve, as the sun dipped low in the west,
Samuel climbed the tower, a well-worn quest,
To light the lantern, cast its beam,
A guardian of ships, a sailor's dream.
One stormy night, when the sky grew black,
A ship approached, off the beaten track,
Its sails in tatters, its hull near wrecked,
Desperate for guidance, it sought to be directed.
Captain Samuel knew the perilous sea,
Its fickle temper, its wild decree,
He steadied the lantern, sent forth a ray,
To lead the ship safely on its way.
As the vessel neared, its crew cheered aloud,
Their salvation found in the lighthouse proud,
But a deafening roar, a thunderous sound,
The ship struck rocks, was run aground.
Samuel rushed to the shore, lantern in hand,
To aid the crew, stranded on the sand,
With courage unmatched, he faced the storm,
Rescuing lives, each in his strong, weathered arm.
Days turned to weeks, and the ship's crew stayed,
In the coastal town, their debt repaid,
They shared their tales of the perilous night,
Of Samuel's beacon, a guiding light.
Through trials and triumphs, they came to see,
That sometimes a hero is where you least foresee,
Not in the grand battles or stories of old,
But in the heart of a keeper, with lanterns of gold.
The lighthouse stood tall, a symbol of grace,
Guiding lost souls to a safer place,
And Captain Samuel Grey, in the twilight's gleam,
Remained the keeper of every sailor's dream.
So, when storms brew and darkness falls,
Remember the lighthouse and its beacon's calls,
For heroes emerge in the darkest of night,
Guiding us home, in their unwavering light.
