The Light We Carry

A Journey of Light

By TulsiversePublished 11 months ago 1 min read

The Light We Carry

I will carry the flame,

and strike the first spark.

But tell me, my friend,

will you keep it alive?

You sing of the dawn,

and dream of the sun.

But when the night lingers,

will you still stand by my side?

The first light is fragile,

a whisper in the wind.

Will you shelter it?

Will you help it grow?

And when the storm rages,

and the world turns cold,

will you still take my hand?

Will you keep the flame burning?

I may light the fire,

but I cannot hold it alone.

We are stronger together.

Will you share the warmth?

If you truly seek the glow,

and long for its light,

I will kindle the first ember,

but will you feed the fire?

Will you cradle the flame

and let it shine forever?
