The Light in the Dark

Stop looking through rose-colored glasses.

By MizuNaniaPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I hold my breath forgetting how to breathe. I feel as if I'm drowning. The world is crumbling around me, and no one knows. No one can hear me scream.

When they do hear me scream they question me and think that I'm messed up and weird. They will never understand the turmoil inside me that makes me, me.

I've been viewing everything through rose-colored glasses since I was born. Always giving excuses for others' behavior. The truth is I don't need to make excuses anymore. They put themselves in that situation, not me. It's time to take off the rose-colored glasses and view people for who they really are.

When I take the glasses off I see I have no one left. Everyone has been lying to me with the serpent's tongue. I have been believing their lies.Until I turn around and see a light.

The light of hope, the light that keeps me sane. The light that always knows what to say to make me feel happy again. The light that's always there no matter what. That light is my sister. My best friend and the one that pulls me out of the dark. Finally, I'm free.
