The Light-Borne Child

Somewhere inside is a child of light.

who keeps me holding on when I want not.

She truly could be such a pretty sight,

if I were to let her out of my thoughts.

Somewhere inside is a home that is warm,

a beacon from the cold upon my skin,

and though I fear I can't outrun the storm,

I know that girl will always let me in.

As the storm rages on, we sip our tea,

and reminisce on all we used to be.
