Eyes down,

No time to look away,

That might lead my brain astray!

Does this sound right?

What does that mean?

My brain alights,

With thoughts floating down the stream;

More literature to read,

More notes to write,

Yet another check,

To make sure that it's right;

"Aha!"

I know this answer,

Spaced repetition and mnemonics,

Are my forever friend;

Here comes the dreaded assignment,

The deadline comes quickly!

"Did I hit the word count?"

Counting again!

"Too many words!"

I do nothing but complain;

Back to thinking now,

An idea has crept into my brain,

"Quick! I must add that, or my marks

will be stuck in the rain."

A student is always thinking,

You see;

It stops our brains from sinking

And keeps our words floating

In an attempt to get that grade!
