The Lesser of Two Evils
Commentary on the political landscape
By Ellie HoovsPublished 12 months ago • 1 min read

They keep us starving
and in our own
separate
corners
Then
they toss a plate
of weevils
into the middle.
We fight
and scratch
and grab
to get what we need
forgetting
WE are supposed to be
the ones
in charge
But we are too busy
comparing who got
the bigger,
the better,
the most
of the scraps
thrown at us
from both sides.
Yet at the end of the day
we’ve been left
eating
bugs
