Fire:
Lava hardened streets
fell victim to the wrath of
Lord Vesuvius.
Air:
Formerly His gift,
He turned air, with each breath -in-
to a horrid curse.
Earth:
As their feet struck earth,
to flee his feelings, Lord V.
flung ash, at Pompeii.
Water:
Women clung to sons,
and grown men wept, but Lord V.
never learned to cry.

Abby I love your imagery in these Haikus (Haiku?.. Which is the pleural for it?). I love the play on the four elements and the intensity of the chaos you describe in this poem! Nicely done!
