The Last Cup

End

By Life HopesPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

We met where steam rose like whispered dreams,

a table for two, stitched in memory’s seams.

Your eyes held galaxies, once burning bright,

now softened by distance, by shadows, by night.

The cup between us, half empty, half full,

echoed the story of hearts once whole.

We laughed at beginnings, so tender, so true,

yet silence confessed what words could not do.

Rain traced the windows, the world stood still,

while love surrendered to time’s quiet will.

We parted as strangers, yet carried the flame,

two souls forever altered, yet never the same.

For love doesn’t vanish, it lingers, it stays—

a ghost in the sunlight, a song in the haze.
